The General Council is charged with the supervision of all business not falling within the remit of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and it shall advise the Governing Board in the conduct of the OeNB’s business and in matters of monetary policy.
The General Council consists of the President, one Vice President and currently elven other members. The President, the Vice President and the other members of the General Council are appointed by the Austrian federal government for a term of five years and may be reappointed.
